Liberty Hill Council Approves $933,609 Wastewater Relocation Agreement for SH 29 Expansion

Liberty Hill City Council voted unanimously June 24, 2026, to approve an advanced funding agreement providing $933,609 to TxDOT for wastewater main relocations tied to TxDOT's planned State Highway 29 widening. The city will pay TxDOT before the project is bid, and the agreement allows TxDOT to include the relocation work in its highway construction contract.

What to know

The council approved an advanced funding agreement authorizing $933,609 to TxDOT to relocate wastewater mains that conflict with planned roadway improvements. [1]

TxDOT is in final design to widen SH 29 from County Road 322 in Bertram to Butler Farms, adding a continuous center turn lane. [1]

Deputy City Manager Brandon Pritchett said Liberty Hill is responsible for the relocation costs because the wastewater lines were originally installed in the state right of way. [1]

Pritchett said the project will be funded through Liberty Hill's sewer fund, primarily supported by sewer impact fees from new development. [1]
