Kohen Pittman, 14, was struck by a vehicle while riding his e-bike through a signalized intersection on State Highway 29 on August 10. [1]

Pittman suffered multiple facial fractures, broken ribs, a broken ankle, and a small brain bleed, requiring transfer to Dell Children's Medical Center. [1]

Doctors anticipate Pittman will be homebound for two to three months for rehabilitation, with family friend Angela Marklin crediting his helmet for saving his life. [1]
