An Oct. 9 report published in partnership with Liberty Hill ISD describes the Panther and Wrangler Pit Crews, whose Friday night tailgates raise money for student organizations across the district.

What to know

The Panther Pit Crew committed to distributing $50,000 to student groups this season, earned through tailgate participation and competitions. [1]

The Wrangler Pit Crew, now in its third year, has raised roughly $140,000 to $150,000 from community businesses and families for student programs. [1]

At the first tailgate of the 2026-27 season, 21 student organizations set up before rain and wind arrived while they were still finishing preparations. [1]

The Wrangler Pit Crew added $6,000 to its original $5,200 pool so every participating organization would benefit, and planned new canopies for the groups. [1]
